Senior UNC Student, Gavin Bell, was recently featured in an article in The Daily Tar Heel entitled “A fight for recognition”. This article showcases Bell’s personal activism to fight social injustice, while providing a glimpse at the history of his Lumbee Tribal history.

Bell is actively involved in the in the Native Community here at UNC. He is part of the Carolina Indian Circle and the Native American acapella group on campus, Unheard Voices. During his time on campus, Bell has worked hard to ensure that the voice of Native students is heard. He is majoring in American Indian and Indigenous Studies.

The American Indian Center is proud of Bell’s service to the Native Community and look forward to seeing how he will continue to raise his voice for his Native People.
