The 27th Annual Carolina Indian Circle Powwow was a tremendous success with over 60 dancers, 4 drum groups, and approximately 1,000 visitors throughout the day. We were also fortunate to have Chancellor Folt and our Elder in Residence, Simon Ortiz, attend and speak as well.
In addition to honoring our veterans, we also honored our graduating seniors and presented Faith’s Danielle Hedgepeth’s family with a framed t-shirt of Faith’s sorority letters. In July 2013, at the National convention, Alpha Pi Omega Sorority Inc. unanimously agreed to extend honorary membership posthumously to Faith Danielle Hedgepeth.
