Your support enables us to make a meaningful impact in our community, both statewide and nationally.

By investing in the AIC, you have directly shaped our future leaders and advocates, and provided immediate and lasting benefits for our Native communities.

This year, with YOUR help…

We facilitated sustainable community changes through our Healthy Native North Carolinians initiative.

We enhanced the leadership, financial self-determination, and communication skills of American Indian students across UNC and other NC college campuses through our University Network of Native Leaders.

Our 2024 Elder in Residence was Dr. Rick West, Jr. of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes. Dr West is the founding director of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of the American Indian and the president/CEO of the Autry Museum of the American West .

We provided student interns in the American Indian Cultural Garden with the skills, opportunities, and mentoring necessary to be successful in their personal and professional development.

The American Indian Center relies heavily on support from our donors. By giving to the American Indian Center you are investing in the permanency, presence and impact of the Center. Likewise, you are investing in the future of Native communities on campus, in the state and beyond. Every dollar received is immediately put to work and contributes greatly to our programs and initiatives. Unrestricted gifts to the Center allow us to be flexible in serving tribal communities and Carolina campus community.

We thank you for your generous support.
