“Gather” Documentary Film Screening

Come join the UNC American Indian Center for a *free* film screening of the newly released documentary “Gather”, a depiction of Native foodways across Indian Country. We will watch the film together, hearing from Native farmers, gatherers, and chefs about how they are carrying forward traditional foodways. Stay for the Zoom discussion group afterwards to discuss the film and how it connects to food work in our own communities. Across North Carolina, Tribal Nations have vibrant living traditions of annual harvests, feasts, community gardens, and traditional foodways celebrations. Food sovereignty is a timely topic, and we look forward to discussing both this film and our local movement!
